In addition to the popular marathon distance, for which all race entries have already been allocated through pre-registration, the NN Marathon Rotterdam offers a wide-ranging program with events for everyone. Various running distances and The Marathon Rotterdam Walk for walkers are scheduled for Saturday, April 11, and Sunday, April 12, 2026. Registration opens today for the Saturday events and the 1/4 Marathon Rotterdam on Sunday.
On Saturday, April 11, we kick off with The Marathon Rotterdam Walk (5, 10, and 15 km), the Your Marathon Challenge, the NN Kids Runs (1 and 2.5 km), and the City Run (4.2 km). On Sunday, April 12, the 1/4 Marathon Rotterdam and the international NN Marathon Rotterdam will take center stage. Almost all the events sold out during the previous edition, and this year, a limited number of race entries are available again. More than 50,000 participants are expected, including 18,000 marathon runners.
The Marathon Rotterdam Walk
The walkers will kick off the event on Saturday morning. The Marathon Rotterdam Walk is a fully catered walk where participants can choose from three distances: 5, 10, or 15 kilometers through the heart of Rotterdam. Along the way, highlights await, such as the Erasmus Bridge, live music, and of course, the festive finish line in the city center. A unique opportunity for walkers to experience the true marathon atmosphere!
Your Marathon Challenge
This event encourages everyone to exercise more in an accessible way. Before the marathon weekend, participants independently complete 41 kilometers – on foot, in a wheelchair, or on a mobility scooter. The final 1.195 kilometers will be completed on Saturday, April 11th, with a joint finish line under the same arch as the runners. All participants will receive a beautiful commemorative medal.
NN Kids Runs
On Saturday, April 11th, it’s the turn of young runners aged 6 and up. They can choose between a distance of 1 or 2.5 kilometers in the NN Kids Run. They’ll start in waves with their peers. Cheered on by thousands of spectators, the children will run towards the finish line, where a well-deserved medal awaits. As every year, many Rotterdam schools will also participate. A special school village will be set up at the event grounds as a gathering place.
City Run en 1/4 Marathon Rotterdam
Besides the full marathon, there are two popular distances for runners: the City Run (4.2 km) on Saturday afternoon and the 1/4 Marathon Rotterdam on Sunday morning. The City Run runs through the charming Leuvehaven and Maritime District, while the Half Marathon offers a fast course around Kralingse Plas. Like the marathon distance, the 1/4 Marathon is a popular event; the 17,000 available starting places are expected to sell out quickly.
KWF – Run or walk against cancer
The NN Marathon Rotterdam is once again supporting the Dutch Cancer Society (KWF Kankerbestrijding). The goal: less cancer, more cures, and a better quality of life for cancer patients. That is the goal of the Dutch Cancer Society. Participants can contribute by making a donation when registering or by creating a personal fundraising page for the Dutch Cancer Society and dedicating their participation to the Dutch Cancer Society.
Registration for these components is now possible via this page.
